I set this up almost 3 years ago, but obviously never used it! I am going to use it now for those of you who want information about Ross so I don't have to e-mail everyone and give you more updates than you really want! Ha! It will also save me time! I may use it as a family blog also! Maybe our extended family would use it too! It would be great. For those of you that aren't very computer savvy - like ME- just type in the blog address (which you did to get here )and then put it in your FAVORITES so you can you just click on it when you wish to check it. If any of my family want to make this a family blog, e-mail me and I'll give you the password and then you will be able to write posts on it also. I think anyone can comment.
We heard from Ross briefly through facebook. This is all he said: He has arrived (I'm assuming Afghanistan - he couldn't say because computers are monitored) and they are sleeping in a shipping container. It is very hot and primitive. No showers. They are wearing full body armour and helmets and that is not very comforting to us, but it was great to hear just a tad bit of news. His address is: Ross Miller
C Co. 3/509 IN
FOB Boris
APO, AE 09311
You may send letters and I know he would love it. I do not know how often they will receive mail or be able to communicate. I did some research and found out you can call the following number and the USPO will send you free shipping kits. The number is : 1-800-610-8734. Ask for the Care Kit. They will send some small boxes, labels, tape, etc. and it is free. You can pay a flat fee at the Post Office also for boxes and then fill them for one price shipping- $10-20. depending on size of box. I have asked him what he needs and if I hear back from him, I'll post it on this blog. You cannot send obscene articles or pork or pork by-products or bulk quantities of religious materials contrary to the Islamic faith. You can however, send them for personal use only. I plan to send him a package this week (minus the Playboy and pork rinds) and I'll let you know if and when he receives it.
We love you all and so appreciate all of the intercessory prayers going up for Ross. Everyone else is enjoying Spring Break!

Thanks, Jana!
This will be another great way to stay in touch! Love you.
Great! I'll be following!
YAY You! for posting on your blog! I will look forward to keeping up with whatever news you get. I'm praying.
Love you all!
Jana:
I had a pork tenderloin and pork chops ready to send. Who knew?
One of our English faculty has a son overseas; he is 18 years old, and scared to death. She told us about the free package supplies, and she has been sending lots of junk food and magazines.
I know you are internally holding your breath for Ross. I can't imagine.
This I know is true--God has gone before Him, and as Trisha is always so good to remind me, He loves your precious Ross even more than you.
Keep holding His hand, sister! I'm holding yours here in Lubbock.
I love you!
Jana A.
Ok, I just have to correct my note.
What I meant to say was that God loves your Ross "more than you do"--not more than you.
I should proofread occasionally.
Love you.
Jana
So glad to know you have a blog, Jana. I'll add you to my Bloglines and be notified every time you write a post. I am blessed to know you and will keep Ross in my prayers.
((hugs)) ~ Angela
